SPIC steps up its efforts in the fight against COVID-19; commits additional funds and resources for the affected in the Tuticorin district
- For the treatment of COVID-19 patients who need oxygen support, the plant will start producing medical-grade oxygen and supply 170 cylinders on a daily basis free of cost to hospitals in and around the Tuticorin district. The capital cost to set up the plant is Rs. 1.50 crores.
- Donates 400 imported Oxygen Flow Meters for use in hospitals for treating COVID19 patients in the Tuticorin district.
- Contributes Rs. 1 crore to Chief Ministers Public Relief Fund; group companies, Tamil Nadu Petro and Manali Petro has contributed Rs. 50 lacs each for this initiative.
- Contributes Rs. 1 crore to District Collectors CSR Fund, Tuticorin
- Mr. Ashwin Muthiah, Chairman – SPIC and Founding Chairman, AM International, said, “The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is more severe and needs to be fought jointly by all stakeholders. As a responsible corporate, we are committed to supporting the government and local authorities during the current times. The contributions will help in bettering the district’s healthcare infrastructure and save precious lives.”
- On behalf of the company, Mr.S.R. Ramakrishnan, Whole-time Director and Mr.K. Gopalakrishnan, Vice President-Corporate Affairs handed over the cheques to Honourable Member of Parliament for Tuticorin constituency.
- AM Foundation, the CSR arm of SPIC and other AM International group companies since the past year, has been working closely with local authorities for various COVID-19 related relief measures. It has donated items like masks and sanitizers to healthcare, police, and frontline workers and food items for the needy.
