VIJAY ANTONY’S MAARGAN TRAILER LAUNCH EVENT – HIGHLIGHTS
Vijay Antony Film Corporation has carved a niche of excellence in the Tamil movie industry for producing 19 movies. He is the next actor after Kamal Haasan to produce so many movies under his home banner with 7 films scheduled at different stages of production. He owns a unique trait for creating new trend in the industry like Motion Poster, special promo videos and even unveiling crucial clippings from the movie prior to the theatrical release. His upcoming film Maargan is a Murder-Mystery Crime Thriller, featuring Vijay Antony as a police officer. While the film is all set for the worldwide theatrical release on June 27, the trailer launch event happened this evening in Chennai.
Here are some excerpts from the event that was attended by the cast, crew members of the film along with special invitees.
Producer C.V. Kumar, Thirukumaran Entertainment said, “My heartiest greetings to all the press and media friends and special invitees here. Leo John Paul is more like a younger brother to me and has been my backbone in my early days of production. Myself and director Nalan Kumaraswamy would often call him a ‘Director’ rather than a mere editor. He shows so much involvement beyond his editing suite, and make sure that the sound and music stands out to be well. Right from the day, he got involved in this project, he used to keep discussing about it every day. Maargan itself is going to be a special attempt in the Tamil film industry and will be a blockbuster like Por Thozhil and Ratchasan. I know each and every minute thing about this film, and I am sure it’s going to be a special cinematic experience for the audiences.”
Director Poo Sasi said, “Leo John Paul’s editing is something excellent, and I have been keenly waiting for an opportunity to work with him. After watching the trailer, I was so much engrossed, and felt like watching it over and again. This movie is going to be a super hit, and there’s no doubt about it. I introduced Vijay Antony as music director in Dishyum in 2006 followed by Pichaikkaran as Hero in 2016 and now I am collaborating with Vijay Antony again in a new movie in 2026. I am going to see Vijay Antony in a dimension that I have always loved to, and it will be a special movie for all of us.”
Director Nalan Kumaraswamy said, “Leo John Paul would approach all his movies including mine as a director and not just editor himself. Vijay Antony sir gives space and importance to all in the team. He always makes movies not based on his presence, but good content and team. That’s the reason, why his team always works for the best results and deliver promising impact. This movie is going to be an Astral Travel like Rajesh Kumar sir’s novel. I wish all the best to entire team.”
Producer G. Dhananjayan said, “Maargan is going to be a special film for our banner. Vijay Antony Film Corporation is widely recognized in the trade and finance circles as a 100% profitable production house. At present, the Hindi satellite rights, OTT and satellite rights, and theatrical rights of Maargan are all in a highly promising phase. During a special screening arranged for OTT negotiations, the respective streaming platform appreciated the film immensely and immediately signed the deal. Maargan is a socially responsible thriller with a strong message that we believe will resonate well with audiences. Vijay Antony has now graced the promotional event of Maargan in the same getup as the film. That speaks volumes about his dedication. Vijay Antony has also given equal importance to his nephew Ajay, and this film is going to mark a perfect debut and a promising start to his career. I am also spellbound about Vijay Antony’s next movie ‘Lawyer’, and it’s going to be a unique treat for audience. Vijay Antony sir’s confidence and his vibrant pace of signing up back-to-back projects is amazing. I am curiously waiting for the release of Maargan. Wish the entire team, a great success.”
Director Ravikumar said, “Leo John Paul has been my editor since my debut film, and he is the production company’s favourite editor. He has contributed immensely to the success of many debut ventures, including Pizza, Attakathi, my own film Indru Netru Naalai, and several others. He ensures that even the smallest and most minute details are refined and enhanced. While most editors usually confine themselves to their editing tasks, Leo goes beyond and stays actively involved in the post-production process until the final output of the film is achieved. Vijay Antony sir’s thought process is truly inspiring. After C.V. Kumar, he is someone who has introduced and supported numerous debut filmmakers. I sincerely wish the entire team great success.”
Actor Mahanadi Shankar said, “My long run dream of working with Vijay Antony sir ha finally happened now. I travel along with his character throughout this movie. Maargan is going to be a special movie, Leo isn’t just an editor on table, but would edit even the dialogues on the spot. His clarity is so perfect, which has helped the film achieve a strong output. I am glad to be a part of this film. Thank You All!”
Amma Creations Producer T. Siva said, “I have never met Leo John Paul till now, but I’ve always heard great things about him. In fact, I’ve often been told that C.V. Kumar would trust only Leo’s suggestions. Now that he’s making his directorial debut, I’m confident he would have put in extra effort to ensure Maargan becomes an exceptional film. I’m truly excited and impressed by the visuals and the overall presentation of the movie. My heartfelt wishes to Vijay Antony sir and the entire team for grand success. His passion, perseverance, and self-confidence are extraordinary. He has introduced so many new filmmakers to the industry. I’ve personally been observing his journey, the challenges he faces and the successes he achieves, and he stands as a strong example and inspiration of self-belief for everyone around him.”
Director Rohin Venkatesan said, “Leo John Paul has been my friend since college days. He’s actually the reason I decided to pursue a career in cinema. He has always been a tremendous support, and what sets him apart is the way he encourages even the simplest script ideas. His positive reinforcement inspires us to go beyond limits and deliver better work. When Leo sent me the script of Maargan, I was genuinely amazed, especially because I personally love the thriller genre. My best wishes to Vijay Antony sir and the entire crew.”
Director Arun Prabhu said, “I take this opportunity to state that my film with Vijay Antony sir – Shakthi Thirumagan has shaped up very well. Leo is my senior, and I’ve always been in awe of his editing works from my college days itself. Ajay has excelled as a performer, and I am looking forward to the film’s release. My best wishes to the entire team.”
Director Joshua Sethuraman said, “Vijay Antony Film Corporation is a successful production house, because Vijay Antony is a great creator. He is so vibrant and doesn’t get tired of sharing and generating ideas. He goes beyond the usual limits to encourage our creative process. Vijay Antony sir after introducing so many directors is introducing a promising actor like Ajay now. I wish huge success to the entire team.”

Cinematographer Ganesh Chandra said, “I made my debut as cinematographer through Vijay Antony sir’s Salim, and I am very grateful to him. Leo John Paul has won so many awards as editor, and he is going to sweep more awards as a director. I am going to direct a new film under Vijay Antony Film Corporation with Ajay playing the lead role. I thank him for this opportunity. Thank you all.”
‘Maargan’ Cinematographer Yuva said, “My heartiest thanks to the entire team, especially Vijay Antony sir. Ajay never looked like a debutant in this movie, and he has done a lovely performance in this film. Thank You all.”
Actress Brigida Saga said, “It was a wonderful opportunity to work with Vijay Antony sir. He’s such a fun-loving and warm person. I’ve played the role of an inspector for the first time, and it’s truly a special film in my career. My passion for cinema keeps growing, and this movie means a lot to me. I sincerely look forward to the support of the press and media friends. I hope you all enjoy the film, especially my performance. This is like an acid test for me, as I’m stepping into a role I’ve never attempted before. I thank director Leo John Paul for trusting me with this opportunity. Ajay never felt like a debutant on set, he’s incredibly talented. And a big thanks to our DOP sir for capturing me so perfectly as a cop. Thank you all.”
Actor Ajay Dhishan said, “I sincerely thank Vijay Antony sir and my aunt Fathima for giving me this opportunity. I was truly spellbound by the dedication and craftsmanship of director Leo John Paul. On set, he would sometimes suddenly distance himself and appear deep in thought. I initially wondered if something was wrong with me. But after seeing the film’s output and the kind of impact it created, I understood he was simply focused on delivering the best. My heartfelt thanks to the entire team for making my debut film such a beautiful experience. I kindly request the press and media to support our humble effort. Thank you all.”
Director Leo John Paul said, “My humble thanks to God, parents, wife and Vijay Antony sir for making me a director today. I have worked as editor for Vijay Antony sir movies, and for the first time, when I narrated the script of ‘Maargan’, I thought it would take time to get materialised. But I was surprised to see that the process got faster than I believed. Vijay Antony sir gave me a complete director’s team. I wrote the script of ‘Maargan’ in the Lockdown that was initiated by my friend, who is no more now. From my childhood, I was fascinated by the stories like Shakthimaan, and I wanted to create something like that. This film will have some mystic, fantasy elements, although the main genre is Thriller. The film has so many relevance of ‘Water’ with the script. So I started researching about the best water sources in Tamil Nadu, and it has impacted a lot in positive way for the film. Ajay never looked like a debut actor, and he performed an underwater sequence at 20ft, which isn’t an easy thing, even for the experienced actor. I was totally surprised with his work, and he got sick after a week for his laborious effort, which scared me. His dedication is so extraordinary. Samuthirakani sir has essayed a small role, but it will have a greater significance in this movie. I thank the entire cast and crew for being so supportive throughout the shooting and postproduction process. I hope and believe you all will like this movie. Looking forward to your support. Thank You.”
Actor Vijay Antony said, “Leo John Paul’s dedication is so amazing, and his honesty and sincerity to work will gain him success. I left the musical works after I started my acting career, and I request Leo not to leave the editing now after his directorial venture. I will be very soon kick-starting my music journey again. I am so happy that Ajay has done a good job. All the actors in the film have given an extraordinary performance. Dhananjayan sir has been a great support and advisor, and even this event was his idea. I thank Sasi sir for giving me a breakthrough in the industry as an actor. CV Kumar sir owns all the credits for making Leo a director today as he gave him so much support in his editing career. The film has come out well, and we as a team are humbly looking forward to your response and support for the movie.”
