MAPS Unit-2 completes one year of continuous operation
The unit no. 2 of Madras Atomic Power Station at Kalpakkam, 70 km south of Chennai on the east coast, has successfully completed one year of continuous operation today 5th October 2024 at 4.56 pm operating with full capacity and generated 1958 million units in the past one year of operation.
This remarkable achievement of continuous operation of the unit-2, which has a rated capacity of 220 MW electrical power, for more than one year has been achieved by the same unit for the fourth time in its history since its initial operation in the year 1985. The unit-2 will undergo a short shutdown for a period of about 10 days for completing the mandatory tests and inspections stipulated under regulatory requirements sad Mr.Seshaiah (Station Director).
