DAE Celebrates ATOMS IN THE SERVICE OF THE NATION Iconic Week of ‘AKAM’- 2022

AKAM – ICONIC WEEK 22 Aug to 28 Aug 2022

Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) had a grand Iconic Week celebration as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from August 22-28, 2022. Various activities were executed by Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic research to popularize the activities of the Department. The theme of the awareness progarmmes was ATOMS IN THE SERVICE OF THE NATION. The progarmmes were planned for students from schools and colleges from 22.8.22 to 28.8.22. Lectures on Nuclear Energy, Science quiz and Demonstration experiments on radioactivity were part of the Anu awareness progarmmes for the school & college students. Health related talks and counseling for neighborhood school students was organized by team of doctors from DAE hospital Kalpakakm. An one day event on “Generation of Magic Squares” of 750 squares with 75 students from nearby eight Govt. Higher Secondary Schools in and around Kalpakkam, using 75 important dates of milestone activities of DAE was also organized as part of the iconic week celebrations. Sand art by Artist Gajendran was used as a medium to highlight the societal benefits of NUCLEAR ENERGY . Around 250 people comprising of 150 students from various city colleges and public participated in the Anu Walkathon for ATOMS IN THE SERVICE OF TE NATION at Elliot’s beach on 28.8.2022.
