The Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation, in association with the Embassy of Argentina, New Delhi, is organising a three-day film festival at the Russian Cultural Centre. The event was inaugurated on Monday by A.C. Mohandoss, Member, State Human Rights Commission, Chennai.

Speaking about the film industry in Argentina, Mr. Mohandoss said, “It is interesting to know that the film industry there started way back in 1890s and it has passed through many twists and turns in its long history of over a hundred years.”

The Argentine film industry has historically been one of the most developed in Latin American cinema along with those in Mexico and Brazil. Their films have been strongly influenced by the political and social changes in the country and has been a true mirror of the changing times, he said.

The movies that will be screened are Godmother (2017) by Hernan Aguilar, The Last Elvis (2012) by Armando Bo, Lock Charmer (2014) directed by Natalia Smirnoff and Dog Lady (2015) by Laura Citarella, Verónica Llinás.
